The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has threatened to mobilise a protest over the outcome of the recently held All Progressives Congress primaries in Lagos State.
Tinubu-Ojo, who is the daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, made the declaration on Wednesday during the weekly meeting of market leaders and stakeholders held at her office in Alausa, Ikeja, accusing some party leaders of allegedly manipulating the results in favour of the APC’s Justice Forum bloc.
According to her, the results announced in Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Agege Constituency 2 and Ojokoro constituency did not reflect the true outcome of the primaries conducted in the affected areas.
“We are ready to protest because of Seye Oladejo of Mushin Federal Constituency 02, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo of Agege 2 constituency, Olotu Ojo of Ojokoro constituency, because we know they won this election. Their mandate should not be given to somebody else,” she said.
The APC chieftain urged the party’s state and national leadership to immediately investigate the disputed primaries before the final ratification of the results, warning that unresolved grievances could deepen internal tensions and threaten party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
Tinubu-Ojo also alleged that the APC in Lagos was becoming increasingly divided along factional lines between the Justice Forum and the Mandate Group, saying the perceived alignment of many party members with the Justice Forum was linked to the governorship ambition of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, whom she identified as a member of the bloc.
She further called for unity within the ruling party, insisting that political relevance should not be determined by factional affiliation.
Tinubu-Ojo added that traders and market women across Lagos remained supportive of Obafemi Hamzat’s governorship ambition and other APC candidates, while also demanding greater inclusion of traders in governance and political appointments.
