2027: Benson Vows Mega Empowerment, Bridge Construction For Ikorodu

The lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson has promised the people of Ikorodu Division more dividends of democracy.
Benson made the promise recently at a Stakeholders engagement in Ikorodu, expressing gratitude to party leaders and residents for their continued support and endorsement of his re-election ambition.
The lawmaker described Ikorodu residents as loyal and progressive supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He also praised stakeholders for unanimously backing his aspiration to return to the National Assembly.
Benson, Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, commended the six council chairmen across the constituency for their grassroots development efforts.
He announced plans for a mega empowerment programme and the construction of a bridge in the Ogolonto area.
The federal lawmaker added that he would partner with the local government to build a cinema and complete more road projects across the constituency.
“I thank everybody, including the council chairmen, for their support and assure constituents that more development projects will be delivered if re-elected. My plans are a mega empowerment programme, construction of a bridge, partnership with the local government to build a cinema, and completion of road projects across the constituency. Residents should expect greater dividends of democracy in the coming years,” he said.
Also speaking, Sen. Mukhail Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, urged residents to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the elections.
According to him, Ikorodu remains one of the leading councils in PVC registration and progressive politics.
He assured residents of more inclusive representation and democratic dividends.
“I was supposed to leave for Abuja when I heard that Jimi Benson was prepared to declare his intention for re-election today.
“Immediately, I turned back because I had to be present. This time, I can assure everybody that more dividends of democracy are in the pipeline,” Abiru said.
Also, the Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Mr Adedayo Ladega, who applauded the lawmaker for support urged APC members with party cards to participate massively in the primary.
