Just In: Tinubu Sends Second List Of Ministerial Nominees To Senate

President Bola Tinubu has sent the list of the second batch of ministerial nominees to the senate for screening.

Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to the president, submitted the letter containing the names of the nominees to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday.

NewsBeatng had earlier exclusively reported that more names of ministerial nominees would be forwarded to the Senate this week by President Bola Tinubu for confirmation.

28 nominees were sent to the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly last Thursday and the Senate has disclosed that their screening will start on Monday, July 31st.

NewsBeatng had also reported that top among the new ministerial nominees, are former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his former Nasarawa State counterpart, Senator Tanko Al-Makura.

Al-Makura was sighted at the headquarters of the Department of State Security Service on Sunday apparently for clearance.

The former Nasarawa State governor may have been nominated to represent the North-Central geopolitical zone because Nasarawa already has a nominee – Ms Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim-on the ministerial list.

Ms Sulaiman-Ibrahim was formerly Director-General of the National Refugee Commission.

Sources informed that a popular Lagos politician is also on the list.
