Four Oshodi Roads Near Completion as Lawmaker Commends Quality, Speed of Work
Residents of Oshodi have received a boost in infrastructure development as the lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency I, Stephen Ogundipe, inspected four ongoing road projects and expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work.
The roads under construction—Oluwasanmi, Baba Ode, Deji Adeoye, and Alhaji Sokoya streets—are being handled by Lagfield Construction Company Limited as part of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to improve connectivity and ease movement within the densely populated area.
Speaking during the inspection, site engineer, Engr. Oketayo Olushoa, revealed that although the project was initially scheduled for 15 months, the contractor is working towards completing it in less than nine months, with steady progress already recorded across all sites.
He explained that construction is being executed in phases to minimise disruption, noting that significant drainage and road base works have been completed on some streets, while others are at different stages of development.
Olushoa assured residents that all materials and construction processes comply with approved engineering standards, adding that the project timeline is unlikely to be significantly affected by the rainy season due to the current pace of work.
Commending the progress, Ogundipe described the project as a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, urging residents to cooperate with contractors to ensure timely completion.
He also addressed concerns about security, maintaining that Oshodi residents are peaceful and law-abiding, and assured that more infrastructure projects would be extended to other areas including Mafoluku, Shogunle, and Ewu.
Meanwhile, the Elewu of Ewuland, Oba Shakiru Adeshina Kuti, alongside community stakeholders, called for unity and peace in Oshodi/Isolo, stressing that only a harmonious environment can sustain development and unlock the area’s full potential.
