Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has urged well-wishers who intend to celebrate his 62nd birthday with gifts or souvenirs to instead channel such gestures toward uplifting the lives of the less privileged and supporting orphanages.
Eno made this appeal in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, where he also expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their continued support and prayers.
“Tomorrow, April 24, 2026, it has pleased God to grant me another year. I sincerely thank the people of Akwa Ibom State for your continuous prayers and support. To those who may wish to express their love on the occasion of my birthday through gifts, I deeply appreciate the kind thoughts and sentiments, but I will not be receiving personal gifts.
“However, as in previous years, I encourage you to redirect such gestures toward impacting the lives of the poor, the downtrodden, widows, and those at the lowest rungs of the socio-economic ladder, or to orphanages of your choice. Kindly document these acts of compassion with pictures or videos and forward them to my Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, or my Chief Photographer, Idara Adiakpan.
“The essence of our lives is to make meaningful impact by touching the lives of the less privileged, thereby giving them hope. My birthday presents yet another opportunity to do so”, he added.
Eno added “May God bless our state and its people as we continue working together to usher in a golden era of growth and development.”
