NFF Opens Talks To Secure Osula For Super Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has intensified efforts to strengthen the Super Eagles by targeting dual-national players, with new contact established with representatives of William Osula over a potential international switch.

Osula, who currently plays his club football for Newcastle United in the English Premier League, is eligible to represent both Nigeria and Denmark at international level due to his heritage.

According to sources, the NFF has reached out through its technical and administrative channels to the player’s representatives in an attempt to persuade him to commit his international future to Nigeria.

The forward was included in a Denmark national team squad in March but did not make his senior debut during that international window.

This situation leaves Osula still eligible to switch allegiance under FIFA rules, which allow players who have not played a competitive senior match to change national teams.

Nigeria is reportedly keen to reinforce its attacking options ahead of upcoming international competitions, with Osula identified as a long-term prospect for the squad.

He is seen as a physically strong and versatile forward capable of operating across multiple positions in the attacking line, making him an attractive option for the Super Eagles setup.

The pursuit of Osula forms part of a broader strategy by the NFF to engage more diaspora-eligible players in order to deepen squad depth and increase competition for places within the national team.
