Some leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) have aligned with the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, changing the political configuration of the state.
This is obvious as a delegation led by Dr. Sikirulai Ogundele, a former chairman of the PDP in the state and Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade, visited governor Dapo Abiodun in his office at Oke Mosan recently.
It was gathered that they engaged in discussions that are widely viewed as a precursor to their anticipated formal alignment with the APC.
Other prominent members of the delegation were Dr. Ekelojumati, Hon. Olowo Fuja, and several influential grassroots mobilizers from various local government areas.
The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, was characterized as both cordial and strategic, signaling a pivotal moment in the political reconfiguration ahead of upcoming elections.
Abiodun expressed his appreciation for the delegation’s commitment to fostering unity within Ogun State, highlighting the APC’s dedication to inclusive governance and sustainable development.

Dr. Sikirulai Ogundele, while speaking on behalf of the delegation, praised the Governor’s open-door leadership and the transformative initiatives being implemented across the state. He affirmed that the visit marks a significant step toward solidifying their decision to join the APC.
Hon. Akinlade, another respected political figure and former member of the House of Representatives and former gubernatorial candidate of the APM, reiterated the group’s intention to enhance the APC’s mission and contribute to the ongoing growth and peace of Ogun State.
