Ikpeme Steps In As NFF Acting General Secretary

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Deputy General Secretary Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, as Acting General Secretary following Dr Mohammed Sanusi’s resignation.
Ikpeme will assume the role on Friday, August 28, 2026, and oversee the NFF Secretariat’s daily operations pending further developments on the proposed Normalisation Committee by the National Sports Commission (NSC).
An experienced administrator and academic, Ikpeme joined the NFF in 2007 as Deputy Secretary-General (Technical) and became Deputy General Secretary in 2015.
He previously lectured at the University of Calabar and served as Sole Administrator of the Cross River State Sports Council.
Ikpeme will ensure the continuity of the federation’s programmes, competitions and stakeholder engagements during the transition.
