Super Eagles Hold 26th Spot In Latest FIFA Ranking

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have retained their 26th position in the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings released on Thursday by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
During the review period, the three-time African champions recorded a 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe’s Warriors and defeated Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz 3-0 to successfully defend their Unity Cup title in England.
Nigeria began June with a 2-2 draw against Poland in an international friendly in Warsaw before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Portugal in another preparatory match in Lisbon on Wednesday.
Despite the mixed results, the Super Eagles maintained their position in the global rankings and remain third in Africa, behind Morocco’s Atlas Lions and Senegal’s Teranga Lions.
Algeria’s Desert Foxes and Egypt’s Pharaohs complete the continent’s top five ranked teams.
On the global stage, the top five positions remain unchanged, with reigning world champions Argentina retaining the number one spot, followed by Spain, France, England and Portugal.
The next FIFA Men’s World Rankings will be released on July 20, 2026.
