Alimosho Chairman Backs Farmers, Facilitates Participation In Lagos Agric Fair 2026

As part of its sustained commitment to agricultural development and strategic farming interventions, the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government in Lagos State, Mr. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, has reaffirmed his administration’s support for farmers across the council by facilitating their participation in the 2nd Lagos National Agric Fair 2026.

In a statement issued by his media office, the Chairman revealed that his administration hit the ground running from its first week in office with an on-the-spot assessment of the farm settlement in Shasha Oguntade, located within the NAF Base axis.

According to him, the visit was aimed at evaluating opportunities for collaboration, particularly in the areas of mechanised farming and the provision of soft loans through cooperative clusters.

He noted that the initiative aligns with the administration’s W.I.S.E Agenda — Welfare, Infrastructure, Security and Education — with food security identified as a critical pillar.

“We are fully committed to investing in agriculture, and it is on this premise that we introduced the ‘Ounje Alimosho’ initiative, which provides food items to residents at a 50 per cent discount,” the statement read.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to the agricultural sector, the Chairman assured that farmers in Alimosho would continue to receive the necessary support to enhance productivity and sustainability.

“As an administration, we take our farmers seriously and will continue to support them in every possible way to boost their activities and overall output,” he added.
