In a decisive move to strengthen grassroots engagement and ensure effective coordination ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial direct primaries in Lagos State, the campaign organisation of Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has constituted of a 2,690-member committee across the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the spokesman for the Jagaban-Jandor Campaign Committee, Gbenga Ogunleye, who noted that the committee is strategically structured to reflect the political architecture of Lagos State, drawing its membership from all 245 political wards and the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
The statement explained that the 2,690-member committee comprises 10 representatives from each of the 245 wards, 10 representatives from each of the 20 LGAs, and 40 members at the state level. Each 10-member unit at both ward and local government levels consists of designated agents of the gubernatorial aspirant, media and communications personnel, security coordinators, grassroots mobilisers, and canvassers.
According to the statement, the structure is designed to ensure operational efficiency, message consistency, and robust voter engagement across all levels of the party.
It added that the committee is mandated to coordinate ward-level mobilisation and stakeholder engagement, drive voter education and participation in the direct primary process, ensure compliance with party guidelines and electoral protocols, and serve as the first line of communication between the campaign and grassroots party members.
The initiative, the statement noted, underscores Jandor’s commitment to a participatory, transparent, and inclusive political process, in line with the principles of internal democracy upheld by the APC.
The campaign committee expressed confidence that the expansive and well-coordinated grassroots structure will enhance party cohesion and position the aspirant for a credible and successful outing in the forthcoming primaries.
