LNSA, LSSTF Explore AI, Biometrics For Safer Lagos

 

The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), in collaboration with the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), has commenced efforts to explore advanced technologies for strengthening security and emergency response across the State.

The initiative focused on Artificial Intelligence-powered CCTV surveillance, drones, biometric identification, emergency communication and command-and-control systems to improve intelligence gathering, situational awareness and response time.

Speaking during the exercise, the LNSA General Manager, Prince Ifalade  Oyekan, said the initiative was aimed at preparing the Agency for the next phase of Lagos’ security architecture.

Oyekan said the integration of technology, intelligence, trained personnel and inter-agency collaboration would help create a more effective and responsive security system.

He commended the partnership with LSSTF, describing it as part of the state government’s efforts to promote innovative and sustainable approaches to security financing, technology adoption and institutional development.

The General Manager reaffirmed LNSA’s commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to enhance community safety and contribute to a safer Lagos.
