POCACOV Takes Anti-Cultism, Drug Abuse Campaign To Ogun Youths

The Ogun State Police Command has intensified its campaign against cultism, substance abuse and other social vices through a youth sensitisation programme organised at the Royal Ambassadors Nigeria National Leadership Training Conference.

The initiative was disclosed in a statement issued on November 3, 2026, and signed by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi.

The conference, themed “Divine Companion,” brought together teenagers and young adults from across the country for leadership development and crime prevention advocacy.

The police delegation, led by the State Coordinator of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), ASP Oluborode Opeyemi, alongside officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), educated participants on the dangers of cultism, cybercrime, substance abuse, negative peer influence and deceptive recruitment.

Addressing the participants, Opeyemi emphasised the importance of self-discipline, integrity and responsible decision-making, urging them to resist peer pressure and other influences that could draw them into criminal activities and jeopardise their future.

The leadership of Royal Ambassadors Nigeria commended the agencies for promoting preventive policing through collaboration with faith-based youth organisations.

At the end of the conference, participants pledged to shun social vices, uphold positive values and promote peace in their respective communities.

The Ogun State POCACOV said it would sustain youth-focused engagements as part of efforts to prevent crime and build safer communities.
