Premier League Kicks Off With Arsenal, City, United, Liverpool

The Premier League season will begin this weekend, with defending champions Arsenal opening their title defence as Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea also begin their campaigns.
Arsenal will open proceedings on Friday when they host newly promoted Coventry City. The Gunners begin their bid for back-to-back league titles against a Coventry side returning to the top flight and eager to make an immediate statement.
Manchester United will be in action on Saturday when they travel to Hull City. Both sides will be looking to make a strong start to the new campaign.
Ipswich Town will host Sunderland, while Everton welcome Crystal Palace in the other afternoon fixtures. Tottenham Hotspur will then travel to Brentford in an all-London encounter.
Sunday’s action begins with Manchester City travelling to Bournemouth. The fixture marks City’s first Premier League match under new manager Enzo Maresca following Pep Guardiola’s departure, giving the visitors an early opportunity to showcase what the new era could bring.
Newcastle United will host Liverpool in one of the weekend’s standout fixtures. Liverpool also begin a new chapter under head coach Andoni Iraola, while Newcastle will look to capitalise on home advantage against the reigning champions.
The opening round concludes on Monday when Chelsea visit Fulham in a West London derby.
