NCDMB Empowers 50 Kaduna Youths With Digital Mapping Skills

…distributes starter toolkits
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with GRUFIX Global Services Limited, has completed a five-day training and empowerment programme in Google Mapping and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology for 50 Nigerian youths in Kaduna State.
The programme, held from August 10 to 14, 2026, in Kaduna, was designed to equip young Nigerians with in-demand digital and geospatial skills to enhance their employability and strengthen local content in the technology and energy sectors.
During the intensive training, participants received practical instruction in Google Mapping, GIS data collection, spatial analysis, remote sensing and digital mapping for project planning and infrastructure development.
Certified GIS professionals and other resource persons facilitated the sessions, which featured hands-on exercises and real-life case studies to help participants develop practical skills.
GRUFIX Global Services Limited, the implementing partner, commended the beneficiaries for their dedication and urged them to apply the knowledge acquired to establish technology-driven businesses, support government projects and contribute to Nigeria’s digital transformation.
All 50 beneficiaries from across Kaduna State received certificates of participation and starter toolkits to enable them to immediately put their newly acquired skills into practice.
Stakeholders described the initiative as a timely investment in human capital, noting that it would help bridge the skills gap in geospatial technology, promote digital innovation and create employment opportunities for Nigerian youths.
