LASHMA Takes Mobile Healthcare To Badagry Communities

The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) has deployed an EKO Social Health Alliance (EKOSHA) mobile clinic to Erikiti Oglo and neighbouring communities in Badagry to improve access to healthcare for underserved residents.
Speaking at the commissioning, LASHMA Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, said the initiative aims to bridge healthcare gaps in hard-to-reach areas without functional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) and advance Universal Health Coverage.
She said the mobile clinic reflects the Lagos State Government’s commitment to bringing affordable healthcare closer to vulnerable residents.

According to her, the clinic will operate every Tuesday from 8am to 5pm, providing consultations, telemedicine, treatment of common and childhood illnesses, chronic disease management, basic lab tests, health education, counselling, drug dispensing, and basic checks such as blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and pulse.
Zamba noted the intervention is temporary and will be withdrawn once a functional PHC is established. She added that two of five targeted communities under the Rural Health Scheme have benefited so far.
Residents were urged to enrol in EKOSHA, use the clinic, and give feedback. Patients needing higher care will be referred to Ajara PHC or Badagry General Hospital, with transport costs covered by LASHMA.

The Baale of Erikiti Oglo, Chief Abila Sedowhe Azonagbo, commended the initiative for easing access to care for pregnant women, children, nursing mothers and the elderly.
The commissioning also featured free health screenings and telemedicine consultations via the Ilera Eko platform.
