Parents Rush To Withdraw Children From FGGC Bwari After FG Shut 41 Schools Over Rising Attacks

Students were seen leaving the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) Bwari, Abuja, on November 22, just hours after 41 Unity Colleges were directed to close temporarily over heightened security concerns.
In a statement signed by the school’s acting Public Relations Officer, Ali Ibrahim, FGGC Bwari said the closure was a “precautionary measure” taken in response to the current security situation.

According to report by The Cable, by early Saturday morning, parents had begun arriving at the school to pick up their children, with several seen carrying luggage out of the premises. Some students were also spotted standing by the roadside with their belongings, while security personnel monitored the situation.

The development comes amid a surge in mass abductions of schoolchildren across the North-West and North-Central regions, prompting renewed fears over student safety nationwide.
