Super Falcons Get Olympic Qualifiers Bye

Nigeria have been handed a first-round bye in the upcoming Olympic Games football qualifiers after being ranked among the top 14 teams based on their points tally.
The Super Falcons will therefore begin their qualification campaign in the second round, alongside 13 other nations that have also been exempted from the opening stage.
The 14 teams granted first-round byes are Morocco, Mali, Ghana, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Guinea, Niger, Algeria, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Zambia and Senegal.
The exemption was determined by the teams’ points rankings ahead of the Olympic Games qualifying competition.
Nigeria will now wait for the first-round fixtures to be concluded before discovering their opponents in the second round of the qualification process.
