The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared its desire to foster collaboration with the Citizen and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), especially on youth enlightenment against internet fraud.
The Executive Chairman of the commission, Ola Olukoyede made this disclosure when he received a delegation from CLTC, headed by the Director General of the Center, Rinsola Abiola, at the Commissions headquarters, in Abuja.
Olukoyede noted EFCC’s prolong relationship with the center and declared his willingness to leverage more on it in the fight against internet fraud and in raising good leaders of tomorrow. He further stated that the Commission was building a cybercrime center that will address issues of internet fraud holistically.
He added, “We will continue to collaborate with you so that we can let our people know that integrity pays. We have established integrity clubs in secondary schools already and I will direct you to work with our team to see areas we can collaborate”.
Abiola applauded Olukoyede for his giant strides in the fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes, noting that the mandate of CLTC aligns with that of the EFCC.
She added, “EFCC is one of our strategic partners. We have a mandate of building and training to correct. We are working on programmes in secondary schools because we believe that cybercrime is an issue among our youths, so we need to train them on the dangers and input leadership in them. We are also looking to impact young people that are convicted before they are reintegrated into the society”.
