The organisers of Nigeria’s second-tier league, the Nigeria National League (NNL), have announced the rescheduling of matches originally slated for the weekend of the Sallah festival from March 20–21, 2026.
Match Day 13 in Conferences C and D, as well as Match Day 15 in Conferences A and B, have now been moved to Wednesday, March 25, 2026, to allow teams observe the Sallah break.
Chief Operating Officer of the NNL, Danlami Alanana, confirmed the development to NNL Media on Saturday.
He explained that the adjustment became necessary to give teams sufficient time to celebrate Sallah after the fasting period during the holy month of Ramadan.
Alanana also extended advance Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful, wishing them a joyful celebration.
Following the adjustment, Conferences A and B will have four match days remaining to conclude the season, while Conferences C and D will have two match days left to wrap up the 2025–2026 NNL campaign.
Matches affected in Conference A include Sunshine Stars against Smart City, Inter Lagos versus Heartland, Edel FC against Abia Comets, and Crown FC against Beyond Limits, while Gateway FC will be on a bye.
In Conference B, the fixtures include First Bank FC versus Solution FC, Osun United against Stormers FC, Sporting Lagos against Rovers FC, Godswill Akpabio FC versus Akwa United, and Ekiti United against Abakaliki FC.
Conference C fixtures will see City FC take on Sokoto United, Lobi Stars face Kada Warriors, Doma FC battle Mighty Jets, and FC Basira meet ABS. In Conference D, Adamawa United will play Gombe United, Ranchers Bees will face Kebbi United, and Jigawa Golden Stars will take on Bichi First FC, while Yobe Desert Stars will be on a bye.
