Tinubu’s Second Term Will Be Period Of Economic Harvest – Shettima

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has said the toughest phase of the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration is over, promising that a second term will focus on delivering prosperity to Nigerians.

Shettima spoke on Monday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Calabar, Cross River State, where he sought support for the re-election of Tinubu, Governor Bassey Otu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general election.

He said the government had completed the most difficult part of its economic reset, adding that the country was now positioned to begin reaping the benefits of the reforms.

“We are confident of this promise to deliver for this nation because we have already done the most difficult job of economic reset.

“None of the other options available has the capacity to move the needle of the economy. We have rescued the economy, and the road ahead is one of harvest. This second term is one of harvest, for you and all Nigerians,” the Vice-President said.

He urged Nigerians to renew Tinubu’s mandate, alongside his own, and support Otu and his deputy, Peter Odey, for another term in Cross River State.

Shettima described the APC’s appeal for another term as a request for the people to allow the administration to continue its work, insisting that political authority belonged to the electorate.

He said the government remained committed to placing citizens at the centre of its policies, acknowledging that Nigerians should be free to question those in authority even while supporting continuity.
