LASU Boosts Epe Campus With 350-Seater CBT Centre, Engineering Complex

The Lagos State University (LASU) has recorded two major infrastructure milestones at its Epe Campus with the inauguration of a 350-seater Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre and the ground-breaking ceremony for the New Faculty of Engineering Complex.

The 350-seater CBT Centre, funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, in the presence of members of the University Management, principal officers, university officials and staff of the Epe Campus.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor commended the federal government for its funding support to LASU through TETFund, acknowledging the support of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his commitment to the development of the University.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) and Director, Directorate of Special Intervention, Professor Oseni Taiwo Afisi, explained that the recurring challenges associated with conducting computer-based tests for students prompted the Vice-Chancellor’s vision to establish a dedicated CBT facility at the Epe Campus.

Professor Afisi appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for her commitment to the development of the University, while the formal inauguration of the centre was met with enthusiastic applause from members of the university community.

The commissioning was followed by the ground-breaking ceremony for the New Faculty of Engineering Complex, marking another significant step in the expansion of infrastructure for engineering education at the Epe Campus.

At the ceremony, Professor Olatunji-Bello commended the Head of Epe Campus, Professor Elkanah Olaosebikan Oyetunji, for his preparedness and commitment to the development of the campus.

Professor Afisi also commended the Vice-Chancellor for her leadership and effective networking, which he said had attracted significant interventions and developmental opportunities to the University. He equally praised the Head of Campus for his proactive approach to campus development.
