The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has extinguished a fire at a 5-million-litre Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) storage tank at the Bono Energy Terminal within the Ibru Jetty Complex, along the Apapa–Oworonshoki Expressway by Coconut Bus Stop, Olodi Apapa.

Controller General Margret Adeseye said in a statement on Friday that the emergency was reported at 12:04 p.m. and firefighters from Ajegunle, Sari Iganmu and Isolo stations arrived by 12:16 p.m.

She said the fire was brought under control through a joint operation with emergency teams from nearby oil and gas facilities and was completely extinguished by 1:54 p.m.

Adeseye said the quick response prevented the fire from spreading to other tanks and infrastructure. No casualty was recorded, and the cause is under investigation.
