Ondo Plane Crash: NAF Releases Identities Of 25 Victims

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has released the identities of the 25 personnel and passengers who died in the crash involving its ATR 42 aircraft, NAF 931, in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The aircraft, with tail number NGR 931, was en route to Lagos from Benin with 20 passengers and 5 crew members when it crashed near the Naval Base in the area.
The deceased personnel include Squadron Leader MI Aburime, Squadron Leader AP Man-Ugwueje, Flight Lieutenant IS Bako, Warrant Officer Abubakar A and Corporal Uguru HC.
Others are Flight Lieutenant TL Lazarus, Flight Lieutenant M Akinloye, Flying Officer IM Adeshina, Master Warrant Officer Onwuka F, Master Warrant Officer Matini BA, Warrant Officer Nuhu FS and Flight Sergeant James RB.
Also listed are Flight Sergeant Mohammed AI, Sergeant Ani AE, Sergeant Izibenikien SI, Sergeant Alafuka C, Sergeant Mbadugha AN, Lance Corporal Ugwuba FC and Lance Corporal Eledan GE.
The civilian passengers identified were Mrs Ezeh Nneka, Godstmine Tarabina, Joy Micheal, Sunday Micheal, Ukeme David and Gideon Omotola.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF said search-and-rescue operations were activated in coordination with relevant authorities to locate and account for all persons on board.
The NAF said no survivors had been found as of the time of the statement, adding that further details would be provided as the search-and-rescue efforts continued.
