Nigerian international Victor Osimhen returned to action on Friday night as Galatasaray defeated Kasimpasa 3-1 in an Istanbul derby.
The Super Eagles striker, who had been sidelined for a month after sustaining an injury in another Istanbul clash against Basaksehir, was introduced in the 77th minute.
Osimhen marked his return with an assist for Mario Lemina, who sealed the victory with Galatasaray’s third goal deep into stoppage time.
The striker is now expected to play a bigger role on Tuesday night when Galatasaray host Barcelona in a UEFA Champions League clash.
The victory lifted the defending Turkish Super Lig champions back to the top of the table with 16 points from seven matches, three points clear of surprise package Amedspor.
