Erling Haaland scored twice as Norway beat Senegal in New Jersey to reach the Round of 32 at the FIFA World Cup.
The Manchester City striker took his tournament tally to four goals in two matches, while Marcus Pedersen opened the scoring late in the first half after Senegal captain Kalidou Koulibaly’s poor clearance.
Haaland made it 2-0 early in the second half from a Martin Ødegaard pass, becoming Norway’s all-time leading World Cup scorer. Ismaila Sarr pulled one back, but Haaland quickly restored the two-goal lead with a volley off the crossbar.
Sarr scored again in stoppage time, but Norway held on for a second straight win. They qualify from Group I alongside France, while Senegal must beat Iraq to stay alive.
