The Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Prof. Tunji Olaopa, has assured shortlisted candidates in the ongoing recruitment exercise that a Computer-Based Test (CBT) will soon be conducted.
Olaopa gave the assurance in a statement he personally signed at the weekend, saying the clarification became necessary to address online claims that the CBT had been cancelled and that recruitment had already been concluded.
Describing the claims as frivolous and unfounded, he stated that the Commission had already put measures in place to conduct the CBT for shortlisted candidates.
According to him, the only outstanding requirement is the provision of adequate resources to support the exercise.
He added that the test would be conducted as soon as the necessary resources are made available.
Providing further clarification, Olaopa explained that the Commission recently conducted interviews only for candidates with qualifications in science, technical and vocational subjects, mathematics, and engineering-related disciplines.
He said the exercise was carried out in response to a request from the Federal Ministry of Education, which urgently needed teachers in those subject areas for Federal Unity Colleges across the country.
He stressed that the interview exercise had not in any way affected the planned CBT for other shortlisted candidates.
Olaopa therefore urged all shortlisted applicants to remain calm and await official communication from the Commission regarding the next stage of the recruitment process.
