Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Tuesday night in London defeated Zimbabwe’s Warriors 2-0 to qualify for the final of the 2026 Unity Cup.
Debutant Femi Azeez emerged as the hero of the night after scoring both goals that sank the Zimbabweans.
Azeez, one of the new players handed a debut appearance for Nigeria, found the net in each half to secure a comfortable 2-0 victory for the Super Eagles.
The Millwall winger scored in the 5th and 66th minutes to seal the win and book Nigeria’s place in the final, where they will face either Jamaica or India. Both teams are scheduled to clash on Wednesday to determine who will meet the Super Eagles in the grand finale.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle handed debut appearances to a number of players, including some from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), as he continues efforts to rebuild the team following the disappointing failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles, who are the defending champions of the Unity Cup, will now await the winner of the second semi-final between Jamaica and India.
