Nigerian Football Star Victor Udoh Passes Away At 21

 

The Nigerian football community was thrown into mourning on Tuesday following the death of former Golden Eaglets player, Victor Udoh

Udoh reportedly passed away in Abuja while on vacation after the conclusion of the European football season.

Reports surrounding the tragic incident claimed that suspected food or alcohol poisoning may have contributed to his death, which allegedly occurred on Sunday night. However, members of his family are yet to officially comment on the circumstances surrounding his passing.

The 21-year-old winger was part of Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets squad that featured at the 2021 WAFU B U-17 Championship in Togo, where the team lost 3-2 to Côte d’Ivoire in the final.

According to multiple reports, Udoh had gone out with friends before he was later found lifeless the following morning in Abuja.

Udoh began his professional career with Hypebuzz FC in Abuja before securing a move to Royal Antwerp in 2023.

He later signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Southampton in February 2025 before recently moving to Dynamo Ceske Budejovice

His death has sparked an outpouring of grief from football fans and associates, who have continued to pay tribute to the young player.
