Former Super Eagles defender and former 3SC manager, Dimeji Lawal, has congratulated Seyi Makinde and the entire Shooting Stars Sports Club family on the club’s return to continental football after a 27-year absence.
Lawal, in a statement, described the achievement as “long overdue” and one deserving of celebration among football lovers and stakeholders.
He particularly praised Governor Makinde for his passion, commitment, and determination in helping the Oluyole Warriors reclaim their place on the African football stage since assuming office.
The former international also commended all stakeholders who contributed to the club’s resurgence, especially the current management led by Honourable Taiwo Lekan Salami, whom he applauded for their doggedness and administrative competence.
Lawal equally congratulated the coaches, players, backroom staff, supporters’ club, and fans across the world for their patience, loyalty, and unwavering belief in the team.
While celebrating the milestone, he urged all concerned to remain united and work towards ensuring that 3SC not only participates in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup but also competes strongly for the title.
According to him, winning the trophy is achievable with collective commitment and proper support from all stakeholders.
He expressed optimism that the latest achievement would mark the beginning of a new era and a return to the club’s glorious past.
