The immediate past Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, Ganiyu Egunjobi, and Barr. Azeez Yusuf Ninalowo have emerged winners of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primaries for Agege Constituencies I and II, respectively, held on Wednesday, May 20.
Announcing the results for Agege Constituency 2, the Returning Officer, Barr. Ismail Yahaya, said the sitting lawmaker, Hon. Jubreel Abdulkareem scored 2613 votes while Ninalowo polled 8299 votes.
In Agege Constituency 1, the Returning Officer announced that Gbenga Abiola Agbelebu polled 434 while Ganiyu Egunjobi polled 9132 votes.
Meanwhile, thousands of party faithful and stakeholders turned out across the wards in Agege to support their preferred candidates during the exercise.
The exercise in Agege was widely commended for its orderly conduct, transparency, and adherence to democratic principles.
Party leaders who addressed supporters after the announcement of the results praised the maturity displayed by the aspirants during the process. They urged members of the party to remain united and work collectively toward the APC’s success in the forthcoming general elections.
The leaders also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to internal democracy, unity, and peaceful political engagement, calling on all aspirants and supporters to close ranks and channel their energies toward securing victory for the party at the polls.
