The University of Ibadan, Nigeria’s premier university, is set to host the 8th Afro-Varsity 3×3 Basketball Challenge.
According to the organisers, the championship will take place from May 28 to June 1, 2026, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The continental university basketball tournament is expected to bring together student-athletes, coaches, technical officials, and university sports administrators from across Africa in a celebration of sportsmanship, youth development, and continental collaboration through university sports.
So far, 22 universities from seven African countries have registered to participate in the championship.
The tournament underscores the growing stature and influence of the Afro-Varsity 3×3 Basketball Challenge within the African university sports landscape.
