Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has appointed seasoned media practitioner, Kayode Oyekanmi, as the new General Manager of Lagos Television.
The appointment was formally conveyed to Oyekanmi by the Lagos State Head of Service, , during a brief ceremony held at his office in the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
Oyekanmi’s emergence follows the disengagement of the former General Manager of the station, Mrs. Sola Kosoko.
Before his appointment, Oyekanmi served as Director of the Strategy Centre at the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, a position he occupied from 2022.
A seasoned communications professional, Oyekanmi has over three decades of experience spanning the private and public sectors, with expertise in advertising, public relations, and global export services.
He began his public service career on March 1, 2000, as a Public Affairs Practitioner with the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, where he steadily rose through the ranks.
An indigene of Isale Eko on Lagos Island, Oyekanmi has earned several awards in recognition of his dedication and contributions to journalism and public communication. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Education from . He is also a member of the and the .
Beyond his professional engagements, Oyekanmi is an avid reader, a passionate lawn tennis player, and currently serves as the Charter President of the Lagos State Ministry of Information Toastmasters Club. In his remarks, Agoro expressed confidence in Oyekanmi’s ability to reposition Lagos Television and wished him a successful and impactful tenure in office.
