Lagos APC Hails Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative as a Model of Compassionate Governance
The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), describing it as a transformative and people-oriented programme that embodies the compassionate ideals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement issued on Friday by its Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC lauded the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her visionary leadership in conceptualizing and driving the initiative, which it said had redefined the role of the First Lady through service and tangible impact.
According to the statement, the Renewed Hope Initiative is not a ceremonial pet project but a “bold humanitarian blueprint” aimed at reaching Nigerians across all regions with empowerment, economic support, and social inclusion.
Oladejo said the programme had positively touched the lives of millions of Nigerians, cutting across widows, artisans, students, farmers, and persons with disabilities. He noted that through scholarships, empowerment grants, agricultural assistance, entrepreneurship training, and care for the elderly, the initiative continues to address real challenges faced by ordinary Nigerians.
The Lagos APC spokesman emphasized that the RHI had introduced a federalized empowerment framework that ensures every state benefits, regardless of political affiliation, describing it as “a structured social investment movement anchored on sustainability.
Oladejo also commended the synergy between the Presidency and the Office of the First Lady, noting that while the federal government focuses on macroeconomic reforms and national stability, the Renewed Hope Initiative operates at the grassroots level to address human needs directly.
He added that the programme’s inclusive approach — particularly its focus on youth, women, and persons with disabilities — reflects the true spirit of national unity and shared prosperity.
“Today, that Lagos legacy has gone national. What began as a passion for community development has become a continental model for compassionate governance,” Oladejo stated.
He described the First Lady as “a symbol of purpose-driven leadership” and praised her for demonstrating that true governance is measured not by promises made, but by lives changed.
