The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday said his administration is using improved road infrastructure to enhance trade and commerce, stimulate the tourism sector in Lagos State.
Sanwo-olu made this known when he inaugurated seven network of roads in Badagry axis, saying infrastructural development remains the foundation for a vibrant tourism sector.
He said “Infrastructural development remains the foundation for vibrant tourism sector. As a key aspect of inclusive governance, we have continued to provide infrastructure that supports businesses, creates employment, and improves the living conditions of our people.
“I sincerely thank Almighty God for preserving our lives since the commencement of these projects and for granting this administration another opportunity to positively impact the lives of the good people of Lagos, especially those in the Badagry Division.We must also take a moment to sincerely acknowledge and deeply appreciate the remarkable courage, resilience, and unwavering support demonstrated by the people of Badagry during the last Local Government elections. Your steadfast loyalty and trust in our administration have been invaluable pillars in our collective journey toward progress and development. It is your belief in our vision and leadership that has empowered us to pursue ambitious projects with confidence.
“Beyond the electoral process, we commend the continuous understanding, patience, and cooperation shown by the people of Badagry throughout the entire construction period of these road projects. Your willingness to accommodate the challenges that often accompany such large-scale infrastructure works—such as temporary disruptions and inconveniences—has been instrumental.”
In his address Special Adviser office of Infrastructure, Engineer Olufemi Daramola said apart from easing traffic, the roads play vital role in improving community interconnectivity in line with the State’s intermodal transportation vision.
He said “Apart from easing traffic, it playsa vital role in improving community interconnectivity in line with the State’s intermodal transportation vision. Prior to this intervention, the road was flooded, overgrown with grasses and was completely impassable. Today, it has been transformed with a semi-rigid pavement finish, offering durability, resilience and safe passage for residents and commuters.”
The roads inaugurated are Aradagun, Mosafejo,Ilado, Imeke , Samuel Ekudayo, Toga and Hospital road.
