7th Edition: Fashion Entrepreneurs Laud GTCO Fashion Weekend
As the 2024 GTCO Fashion Weekend ended on November 10, fashion designers and entrepreneurs have lauded GTCO for its innovative driven ideas to help uplift and empower local business entrepreneurs and African fashion industry.
It would be recalled that the 2024 GTCO Fashion Weekend was held for two days at the GTCO centre, Plot 1, Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos, with the theme: “Fashion Moves Forward”.
Some of the fashionistas and fashion entrepreneurs who spoke with journalists at the event, commended the organisers, acknowledging the robust impact of the innovation on their businesses.
Sandra Kin, a vendor she said truly the bank’s dedication to innovation, transparency, and customer care ensures that it will continue to lead in Nigeria’s competitive banking.
“Kudos to GTCO for showing to the world the experience they know not about fashion and creativity. Fabrics from Nigeria,Ghana, Cameroon,Chad,South Africa and other African countries were exclusively and innovatively modified to create suitable fashion to fashionistas across the globe. This kind of innovation needs emulations to build better future for Africans entrepreneurs.

A fashion entrepreneur, Khali Shin, said “Yeah, GTCO has really stand out among financial institutions. It has created many innovative ideas to lift-up the young entrepreneurs in Africa. Example of it is what is happening here today.”
Another vendor, Deji Bayoh, also gave kudos to GTCO for deeming it fit to be organizing this multi-million naira innovative event yearly. It was amazing seeing our local fabrics majorly from Africa being infused into western world classical fashion dimensions. Nigeria is the most populated black nation in the world with hundreds of tribal fashion tastes that are good enough to be exported to the global world.’
Attendees had master class from noble fashion entrepreneurs. From the likes of a Maestro in the world of celebrity makeup artist, Sheika Daley and Hair Professional, Ted Gibson.
Those participated in the runway as in continuation from the Day 1, includes Ituen Bassey, Selly Rabby Kane, Eric Raisins, Tolu Coker, Xu Zhi and Sukeina.

The 2024 designers put on a brilliant show with such remarkable storytelling through their pieces. From the solemn to the inspiring, to the entertaining; the entire show took the fashion showgoers through a roller coaster of emotions.
The event witnessed mammoth crowd from Africa and entire world. They trooped in with exotic cars to shop for their suitable fashion wares. The inner centre was filled to the extent that thousands were queuing outside waiting for chance to go in.
