A Policeman was on Wednesday afternoon killed at Cele Bus Stop along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos during a duel with commercial motorcycles popularly known as Okada riders.
Shortly after the officer was murdered, the Okada riders, numbering about 100, ran towards Mile 2 end.
Many took to their heels to avoid being attacked by the weapon-wielding motorcyclists.
Convoy of policemen was reinforced to combat the Okada riders.
Confirming the incident, the Spokesman for Lagos Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said that two suspects have been arrested while forty-one motorcycles were impounded.
Hundeyin said that the police would not be deterred from carrying out its mandate to enforcing duly established laws.
