FIFA and CAF delegations will on Monday begin consultations with members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Congress and other stakeholders to address the crisis in Nigerian football.
The meetings follow the resignation of former NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, members of the Executive Committee and General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi on August 27.
The delegations will meet representatives of state football associations, coaches, referees, players, league bodies and other stakeholders at the Abuja Continental Hotel in Wuse. They are also scheduled to visit the NFF headquarters at 11 a.m.
Former NFF presidents and secretaries-general, as well as Federal Government, National Sports Commission and Sports Writers Association of Nigeria representatives, are expected to attend.
Discussions will focus on the NFF leadership vacuum, restoring stability and creating a credible framework for future elections. FIFA and CAF will consider stakeholders’ views before proposing a way forward.
The consultations come after the suspension of the NFF electoral process and are expected to produce a roadmap for reform, inclusive transition and stronger governance.
