The Lagos State Government has confirmed Bldr. Florence Omolola Gbaye as the substantive General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), with her appointment taking effect from August 19, 2026.

The appointment letter was formally presented to Gbaye by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, on Wednesday, September 2, at the Office of the Head of Service, Alausa, Ikeja, following her successful tenure as Acting General Manager.

Gbaye, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Building (FNIOB) and a registered builder with the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), has over 22 years of experience in construction management, project coordination, building regulation and compliance.

During her tenure as Acting General Manager, she provided leadership in advancing LASBCA’s mandate of enforcing building codes and minimum safety standards, with particular emphasis on structural integrity and safe habitation across the state.

Speaking during the presentation, Agoro expressed confidence in Gbaye’s competence and urged her to justify the confidence reposed in her through diligent, selfless and purposeful leadership.

He charged the new General Manager to uphold professional standards and strengthen the agency’s regulatory responsibilities as the state continues its drive towards safer and more orderly urban development.
