LSSTF Strengthens Navy With 50 Bulletproof Vests, 100 Raincoats, 50 Helmets

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has strengthened the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft in Lagos with 50 bulletproof vests, 50 helmets and 100 raincoats to boost protection.

The items were presented at NNS Beecroft, Apapa, as part of efforts to address operational gaps and support security agencies in safeguarding lives, property and infrastructure.

LSSTF Executive Secretary/CEO, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, and the Commander of NNS Beecroft, Commodore Adams A. Aliu, also visited the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Abubakar Mustapha, to strengthen security collaboration.

Ogunsan said the LSSTF routinely assesses security agencies to identify needs and boost morale.

“We visit agencies to assess their needs and support their operations,” he said, noting that the latest visit informed the donation and other planned interventions.

He added that the support aligns with LSSTF’s mandate to fill operational gaps and improve security performance.

Commodore Aliu thanked the LSSTF and Lagos State Government, saying the equipment would enhance naval internal security operations and support the protection of waterways and adjoining areas.

The donation reinforces LSSTF’s ongoing efforts to improve the capacity, welfare and preparedness of security agencies in Lagos.
