CAF Team Ends Nigeria’s General Assembly Facilities Inspection 

 

…approves host venues for 2026 awards

A five-man CAF delegation on Tuesday concluded inspection of Nigerian facilities proposed to host the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly and 2026 CAF Awards.

Led by Dr. Christian Emeruwa, the team—Hervé Dassoundo, Inas Ahmed, Salah Mostafa, and Mohammed Bakeer—inspected venues in Abuja and Lagos alongside NFF officials. In Abuja, they visited Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Transcorp Hilton, and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, proposed for the General Assembly.

In Lagos, they toured Eko Hotel & Suites, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, and the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, expected to host the CAF Awards. The delegation was received by Lagos Sports Commission officials and guided through the revitalised FESTAC ’77 venue.

The CAF team expressed satisfaction with the facilities and stressed the need for a seamless, secure, and memorable event.
