Senegal’s preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) have reportedly suffered a setback after the national women’s team was forced to leave their training camp hotel in Dakar over unpaid accommodation bills.
According to L’Observateur, the Lionesses of Teranga spent only two nights at the Axil Hotel before being asked to vacate the premises after the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) allegedly failed to settle the hotel’s bill.
The report added that the hotel management is considering legal action against the federation over the outstanding payment, as well as losses allegedly incurred from reservations that were not refunded.
The development has raised concerns about Senegal’s preparations for the continental tournament, with the disruption coming at a critical stage of the team’s build-up to WAFCON 2026.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Senegalese Football Federation nor the Axil Hotel had issued an official statement regarding the incident.
