Nwabali Rejoins Chippa United After Transfer Move Fails

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has returned to South Africa and is set to rejoin Chippa United ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Nwabali had been strongly linked with a move away from the club during the transfer window after his impressive performances for both Chippa United and the Super Eagles attracted interest from several teams.

However, the 29-year-old was unable to secure a transfer before the window progressed.

With no deal materialising, the former Enyimba goalkeeper has now returned to South Africa and is expected to resume training with Chippa United as the club intensifies preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.

His return comes as a significant boost for Chippa United, who will once again rely on the Nigerian international’s experience, leadership and consistency between the posts as they aim for a successful season in the South African Premiership.
