Prominent Nigerian businessman and sports investor Kunle Soname has dismissed speculation linking him with the presidency of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), insisting he has no interest in contesting for the position.
Soname, the founder of Beyond Limits Football Academy and owner of Remo Stars FC, ValueJet Airlines, Bet9ja, and several other businesses, said he only became aware of the rumours after reading newspaper reports and online blogs.
Reacting to the speculation, Soname distanced himself from the reported ambition to lead Nigerian football.
“I only read about it in newspapers and blogs, just like you. I am not interested in the NFF presidency. I don’t jostle for positions,” he said.
His remarks appear to have put to rest growing speculation on social media and in sections of the sports media linking him with a possible bid for the NFF presidency.
Soname is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s foremost football investors, having overseen the rise of Remo Stars FC while making significant investments in youth development through Beyond Limits Football Academy.
Despite his immense contributions to Nigerian football, Soname has made it clear that he is not seeking the country’s top football administrative position.
