Zenith Bank Deepens Financial Inclusion With Osubi Branch

Zenith Bank Plc has strengthened its retail banking network in Delta State with the commissioning of a new branch in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area, marking the first commercial banking presence in the fast-growing community.

The development underscores the bank’s commitment to deepening financial inclusion and expanding access to formal financial services in underserved areas across Nigeria.

The branch was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at a ceremony attended by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, senior government officials, traditional rulers, members of the business community and customers.

Industry observers view the expansion as a strategic move by Zenith Bank to tap into emerging economic opportunities within Delta State while supporting local enterprise development.

Speaking at the event, Governor Oborevwori described the investment as a strong endorsement of Delta State’s economic prospects and the success of efforts aimed at creating a business-friendly environment.

According to the governor, the decision by Zenith Bank to establish operations in Osubi demonstrates growing investor confidence in the state’s infrastructure development and economic growth agenda.

He noted that the branch holds significant economic importance for Okpe Local Government Area, stressing that it is currently the only commercial banking institution serving the area.

The governor said improved access to banking services would facilitate business transactions, promote savings culture and stimulate economic activities among residents and entrepreneurs.

For Zenith Bank, the new branch represents another milestone in its expansion strategy and reinforces its position as one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions with a broad national footprint.
