Lagos 2027: Why I Stepped Down For Hamzat – Ajose

A Lagos governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Samuel Ajose, popularly known as SMA Gold, has withdrawn from the governorship race in support of the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

Ajose made the announcement in a viral video shared by community blog, Badagry Today, on Tuesday.

In the video, Ajose said his decision to step down from the race was made in the interest of the party, describing it as a difficult but necessary decision.

He also pledged his support for Hamzat’s candidacy and vowed to actively participate in his campaign.

Meanwhile, impeccable sources disclosed that Ajose recently met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos, where he was reportedly assured of compensation for his loyalty and commitment to the party.

Hamzat was recently endorsed by the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body of the Lagos APC. His aspiration has also received the backing of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
