The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to host a three-day Women’s Football Administrators Workshop in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The workshop scheduled to take place at Exclusive Serene Hotel and Suites, Wuse, from April 26 to April 28, would be organised by the WAFU-B Zone in collaboration with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and expects to bring together key stakeholders in women’s football administration across the West African sub-region.
Participants will include chairpersons of Women’s Football Commissions and heads of women’s football departments from the seven WAFU-B member countries—Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Niger Republic, Togo, and Benin Republic.
President of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, who also serves as President of WAFU-B, is expected to declare the workshop open. Other dignitaries billed to attend include WAFU-B Executive Director Philippe Tchere and CAF’s Head of Women’s Football, Goshime Meskerem.
Also expected are WAFU-B Women’s Football Commission President Amina Amani and the zone’s Women’s Football Development Manager, Precious Dede, both of whom play key roles in advancing the women’s game in the region.
Former Nigeria international goalkeeper, Precious Dede, alongside Meskerem and CAF instructors Jules McGeever and Thuba Sibanda, will serve as facilitators throughout the three-day programme.
The opening day will feature presentations on topics such as the growth and evolution of women’s football in Africa, a global overview of the women’s game, regional challenges and achievements, as well as leadership scenarios.
Subsequent sessions on Days Two and Three will focus on strategic planning, club development case studies, branding, and actionable frameworks aimed at strengthening women’s football across the WAFU-B region.
