Fulham star Alex Iwobi has been recognised for his charitable efforts both in Nigeria and abroad, after being named among distinguished individuals of African origin contributing to social development.
Iwobi was listed alongside Eberechi Eze in the latest edition of the Football Black List, which honours figures making significant off-field contributions to the game.
The annual initiative, established in 2008, celebrates the achievements and impact of Black individuals across football. Iwobi earned recognition for his consistent philanthropic work, including his yearly free shopping outreach for underprivileged communities.
A citation for the 29-year-old Super Eagles midfielder also highlighted his personal project, which supports underserved communities through football tournaments, mentorship programmes, and other social initiatives.
Eze, 27, was acknowledged for his foundation focused on empowering young people in South London through education and sport.
According to a report by BBC Sport, other notable figures on this year’s list include Kolo Touré, Nathan Dyer, and Omar Berrada.
The Football Black List is compiled from nominations submitted to a panel of experts, featuring representatives from the Premier League, The Football Association, English Football League, League Managers Association, Professional Footballers’ Association, Professional Game Match Officials Limited, and anti-discrimination body Kick It Out.
