Ikorodu Ferry Terminal To Resume Operations January 19- LASWA

The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has confirmed the reopening of the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal.

In a press release issued on Friday, LASWA announced that ferry operations at the terminal will resume on Monday, January 19, 2026.

According to the statement, the terminal was closed on October 20, 2025, due to navigational challenges caused by water hyacinth infestation, which necessitated the temporary diversion of services to the Ibeshe Terminal and Offin Jetty.

LASWA explained that the reopening follows the successful clearance of the affected waterways, completion of safety assessments, and consultations with the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

“The Ikorodu Ferry Terminal is now cleared for full passenger ferry operations,” the statement said.

The authority directed all ferry operators to resume normal services in line with their approved schedules and ensure full compliance with existing safety and operational requirements.
