Lagos Strengthens Data Integration As LASRRA, OEQA Seal Strategic Alliance

The General Manager of the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa, to discuss strategic collaboration to strengthen data integration across private schools in Lagos State.
The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both agencies to deepen inter-agency cooperation in line with the Lagos State Government’s vision of promoting data-driven planning and inclusive governance.

Discussions focused on leveraging OEQA’s database of registered private schools to facilitate the registration of students and pupils with LASRRA, thereby improving the accuracy and inclusiveness of the state’s residents’ database.
Adebiyi-Abiola stressed the importance of early registration, noting that inclusion in the database enables access to government services, social interventions and educational planning initiatives tied to residency identification.
She expressed optimism that LASRRA has the capacity to close the registration gap in private schools, regardless of their numbers, describing the partnership as an opportunity to streamline processes and reduce data gaps.
In his remarks, Ogunmuyiwa welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed OEQA’s commitment to promoting accountability, compliance and improved data management within the private education sector.

He also pledged to strengthen collaboration with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and external partners to ensure effective implementation.
Both agencies agreed to establish a joint working team, roll out sensitisation programmes, adopt structured data-sharing protocols and coordinate registration drives, marking a significant step toward advancing the state’s digital transformation and data integration agenda.
